Plex 1.2.x introduced regression bugs which were never resolved (https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/247877/broken-dlna-service-since-1-1-4-when-will-it-be-fixed-tons-of-people-have-problems). With the latest iOS plex client, minimum version for PMS is 1.3.x, leaving the paid customers who have not been able to upgrade because of this bug in the dust.
There seems to be no notion of a stable PMS release. Bugfixes and new features are mixed together to produce new releases, but often the new releases introduce regression problems. It’s impossible for users to maintain a stable PMS setup.
So this feature request is for a stable PMS tree which users can rely on. It can have a set life cycle of X years, upon which it can be sunset. During its life it will receive ONLY bug fixes, and nothing more. Other release branch can continue on whatever the current Plex life cycle is.
