So I already have a library called “TV Shows” and wanted to add another folder path to it from another drive, so instead of editing the existing library I accidentally created a new library with the same type and name called “TV Shows” Will this cause any problems? Can you have the same type and library name in Plex?
I suppose you can also end up with multiple instances of libraries with the same name if friends are sharing libraries with you and everyone just names them Movies and TV Shows.
But to be fair… even if the two same-named libraries on the same server don’t interfere… shouldn’t the library creation/editing modal prevent this or at least give a warning? I’d be worried about myself messing things up with two such libraries
I suppose it would be nice but It does not cause any technical problems. Some folks might be annoyed by the nag of a warning modal or text that may make them think it is not allowed.
Thank you for the prompt response, I figured it would have been fine since I didn’t get a warning/error message, just wanted to confirm with the experts!
