Credit/Intro Detection after moving media files

Server Version#: 4.107.2
Player Version#: n/a

Recently I began splitting up media. Such as a folder/library for Ongoing TV Series, another for Ended Series, another for Animated, etc…

All media had credit and intro detection already completed and working fine.

Once the media was moved into their new folders and libraries, it began scanning as usual, detecting intro/credits as usual, however it pulled none from the cloud and is again needing to scan each episode. (time consuming)

This also occurs when moving entire library folder structure from one location to another (ie PC storage to NAS)

folder structure (simplified)
Media
- Series - Ongoing - Show 1 - Season 1 - Episode 1.file
- Series - Ended - Show 2 - Season 1 - Episode 1.file
- Series - Animated - Show 3 - Season 1 - Episode 1.file
- Movies - Movie 1 - Movie.file

I had thought that credit/intro detection was based on file hash (confirmed file hashes have not changed)? and should not need to be redone within the same server instance or should be able to be pulled from the cloud?

Is it possible to include this data in a metadata file locally with each episode/movies file for future scans/changes?

I think the file hash matching is only for cloud matching, which has to be enabled on your server (Settings > Library > Marker source), and doesn’t work for intro markers (yet?). Locally, intro markers are just associated with the media_part in the database IIRC, which means if you move a file and Plex sees it as new, it will get a new media_part entry and intros will have to be regenerated.
