Custom Scanner: Find multiple episodes in "DVD images" correctly

Hello,

I already posted the topic here: "http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/84329-naming-convention-when-using-a-series-dvd-with-multiple-episodes/", but maybe here some more people will find/read it!?

I am havin all my series DVDs ripped to my NAS in the following format:

C:\Series\Battlestar Galactica\Battlestar Galactica S01E01-E04\Video_TS

As with series DVDs, the problem is, that there are more than one episode per folder and the Plex Series Scanner is not able to handle it.

The first suggestion was to convert all DVD images to *mkv which will probably be the last thing I want to do.....

So right now I am trying to find a simple way to modify the standart Plex Series Scanner to work with this folder structure.

Is here somebody who can help me out? Or has any sugestions?

As I am not at all into python script! :-(

Thanks a lot!

Hossa

Hi,

what is the content of VIDEO_TS ?

Hello,

this is the "normal" content of the Video_TS Folder.

Except the *.nfo file, which I made by hand! As I tought it would help the scanner. But it didn't. So normally there is no *.nfo file!

So what I would want the "DVD Series Scanner" to do is:

Look for an VIDEO_TS.IFO file.

If there is one, than go up two folders and use the name for show, season and episode recognision.

If it doesn't find an exact match, than go up two more folders to find the year.

As I would than name all folders like this

C:\Series\Battlestar Galactica (2003)\Season 01\Battlestar Galactica S01E01-E04\Video_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO

I guess that is pretty easy, but I just don't completely understand how the series scanner is working, so I don't know where to change anything! :-(

Cheers

Hossa
