Customizing media view/menu for easiest and quickest access?

Morning!

Newbie Plex user here.

I added my media via this thread: https://goo.gl/9M1Rtp

Is it possible to customize the view menu/view so that I can access media with the least amount of clicks and page loads?

Following is the click through process to access a single song in my music library:

Is it possible to have all subfolders show in the Libraries menu?

Is it possible to show the folder path when a subfolder is opened? I don’t see this in the screenshots I attached.

What is the easiest way to access media, with least amount of clicks and page loads, when maneuvering through Plex?

Thank you in advance!

No.
Here is an overview of the library view in Plex Web.
This differs in other Plex clients.

No.

Use the quick search bar or create playlists.

Thank you for the response.

If the native Plex web app cannot do this, is there a third party app that is more user friendly?

One thing you can do to make it quick to get to smaller sections is to separate the movies into separate folders and add the folders as their own library…

It creates a list of items in the left hand pane… but it serves the purpose and frankly works just great… One thing I did do is, for the libraries that I wanted at the top of the list, I prepended a space on the library name… The natural sort puts them on the top… so I dont have to scroll down to get to the ones I enter often…

I have “libraries” for movie actors etc “Marx Brothers”, “Laurel and Hardy” etc as well as genres “Film Noir” etc… The same goes for Music… I have “Blues”, “Jazz”, “Rock” etc… I think I have close to 30 libraries defined.

Another trick - I dont know what platform you are on… On my Linux Plex server… at one time I wondered if I could have the movie exist in two different libraries without having two copies of the video files… I created a folder for the new library and simply created links to the movie files in the main movie library. Plex sees them as separate movies in different libraries… but only one copy of the video file exists on the server…

My $.02

An app cannot help it. What doesn’t exist on the server, an app cannot supplement.

Montys: Can you elaborate on your library naming, “prepended a space”, etc? I’m curious how you get this to look organized and easy to review? Can you screenshot what this looks like?

Thank you in advance!

I just used a space as the first character in the library name. like " Movies" etc. You wont see it on the screen but when the libraries are sorted, the libraries beginning with the space will be at the top.
