Dashboard/Server Feedback!

I won’t dwell on what I think about the new mobile/tv experience as my own views are well known on this forum!

However, I have to give credit to the Dashboard/Server addition to the mobile app. It’s good, even after only 2 iterations since its been added. I can see where its going and it will be a worthy replacement for Dash.

Two minor bugs:

  1. When selecting an active now playing item which is a music track, the artwork for the album is presented in 1:1.5 radio and not 1:1 square. The previous screen has it correct, its when you select the item where it is wrong.
  2. When opening the history if you select a music track the app will start playing the track instead of taking you to the item within your library. This does not happen for tv shows or movies, only music.

Wish List:
Most important item which is missing is filtering history on media type. Currently, we can only filter users but being able to filter movies, tv, music or other is needed. Hope its coming soon …

I had to manually update to see the changes, and I agree with the kudos.

Update [10-Aug]

Filtering by library has been added, thanks. However, when unfiltered (all libraries) music tracks are shown but there is no option to filter music

I agree with this. It’s a surprisingly nice addition to the app. Not sure if I agree with changing of the colors of the local/remote bandwidth though. But that’s very minor obviously.

Kinda wish we could hide the “heartbeat” tiny bandwidth spikes. Always thought this looked bad.

Another thing Dash has is the completion time for something which is being played, 1:08pm in this example …

… which is missing in the new app …

I hope this returns at some point as I’d really miss that. I find this handy when watching something with the family on TV as I can see how long is left and when it will finish without having to open up the TV controls interrupting the others viewing it.

Would be nice to get gpu info same as cpu/memory/bandwidth.

Would be good to see how hard the gpu is running whilst transcoding..
