I have also done the Manage Server options of empty trash, optimize, and clean bundles. Everything is working, but the interface has become very sluggish when taking any editing actions, and my guess is due to the size of the database.
Is there anything I can do to reduce the size? I do not want to start fresh, although I’m doing that now with a cloned server just to see what the database size will be.
I ran the “see how many extras” script and nothing was over 100, my top object had 77 extras.
my library.db is 1.48GB and blobs.db is 3.33GB. Keep in mind that while rebuilding your clone, you may hit some rate limits with metadata and not all might get populated at first.
Ah, ok thanks. Maybe it’s normal then? My PMS folder is just about 100 Gb and I’m trying to slim it down as best I can. I don’t have video previews or chapter images turned on, but I do have skip into and quite a lot of music, which I’ve heard adds to the count.
Skip intro for sure gets put into the blogs DB. So if you have a large TV library (which it sounds like you do) then for sure the blogs db will be big. I disabled it on my server as I was concerned how big blogs had grown and would continue to grow as I add content. My blogs db is now pretty much empty.
I also think loudness and sonic analysis goes into the blogs db but as I have them also disabled I cannot say for 100% certainty. Maybe someone else can confirm.
For content … Movies → 3,447, TV Show → 643, Episodes → 28,173 and Music Tracks → 17,979
368K → com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db
348M → com.plexapp.plugins.library.db
Mm. I’ve got 3.5x the items, so I suppose the sizes here are consistent. And the large Blobs is like you said. I do appreciate those features. Thanks again.
