Plex optimization causes indefinite loss of access

Hi everyone,

I’m dealing with a serious issue with Plex that I can’t seem to fix, so I’m turning to the community for help or insights in case anyone has experienced something similar.

My com.plexapp.plugins.library.db file has grown to a massive 55.6 GB, which seems completely disproportionate considering I only have around 1350 movies in my library. I don’t use any legacy plugins (like WebTools, Sub-Zero, etc.), and I try to keep the setup fairly clean. I started digging into this because every time Plex automatically optimized the database, I would lose access to my library indefinitely, until I manually restarted the server.

Install the current 1.41.8 beta.

It will reduce the db to normal size. It will run during schedules tasks.

It may take tens of minutes to several hours the first time, depending on amount of data to clean, CPU speed, and SSD/hard drive speed,
