Date added for media is all over the place on new setup

Server Version#: 1.23.6.4881
Player Version#: Plex Web - 4.59.2

Scaling back and going to just run plex on my NAS(Synology Diskstation DS2415+) instead of the ubuntu server its on now. I did a fresh install, and updated plex to the latest available for the system. Added the libraries for Movies and TV series. However i noticed as new episodes or movies were added after initial setup, nothing new ever showed up on the main dashboard in recently added. Looking at the movies library, or in TV showing episodes and sorted by date added, they are wild and all over the place…

In the TV shows, listing all episodes, and sorted by date added. They span from ā€œa few seconds agoā€ for things that were added over a week ago, to 42 years ago for others. Movies its similar, with things that were in fact added over a week ago upon the fresh install saying added a few seconds ago, and others saying they were added when i was about 2 years old in the late 70s :frowning: Also the ā€œa few seconds agoā€ items… stay that way. They never change from 'a few seconds ago" for date added.

i tried to delete the TV shows and then created them over again, did the full scan… same problem. The same files are accessed by my existing plex install on linux and work correctly for date added. Even if i grab a new show/episode it will just assign it a seemingly random ā€˜date added’.

Looking through the logs, so far not seeing anything related to the date added. Yes the systems date/time settings are correct. If anyone knows where exactly in the logs(and which log file) to look for any clues, that would be great. Or any other suggestions.

Thanks.

Compare the ā€œadded atā€ date of the item in Plex with the date/time stamp of the corresponding media file.

Yeah, looks like this might be the culprit. didnt even think of plex looking at timestamp on the media files.

Ran a ā€˜find . -exec touch -m {} +’ on both the TV and Movie folders. Removed each library and readded just to be clean, looks like its all good now. thanks!
