Last added / Date Added shows wrong movies

Hey guys/Gals

I got a quick question and hopefully someone will explain how i can fix it.

Recently, I had to create a new Plex server. WHen i added the movies library, and TV shows library, it added them all, but its not going off the dates. For example, in Movies, the 'Last Added" is in order Alphabetically. For example, the first last added movie Starts with the Z and goes on from there. For example, the latest movie that was added was Zero Dark 30". Now, If i add a new movie, that was never on the system, it does work as its suppose to. Its just the current library.

If i go and look at the date that zero dark 30 was added, it was, let’s say 03/01/19, and even the file as the same date, but if i go 3 slots over, that movie was added 08/01/19 . So, in theory, that should of been the first “Last added” movie. I was just hoping that scanning the library, it would pick the dates or any other metadata to show the most recent last added.

So, is there any way to make a scan so it reads the dates?
P.S . Also,let me also say that none of the covers or any other metadata is showing on all items that were currently there. It does show fine on new stuff i add, just not any older stuff. I have to go into each item and do a Match to re-match it

When creating a new library, PMS will use either the file date or the folder date, I can’t remember which. It does not use the current date. Any files added after the initial library creation will use the current date. There isn’t an easy way to change these.

I’m having constant issues with this, and cannot figure out what the problem is. It seems that everytime the library gets refreshed, the “date added” changes. I have movies that have been around for years, and are showing up as added ‘20 minutes ago’. This isn’t right…

Settings - Server - Library - Empty trash automatically after every scan
Disable this if your media storage is not inside the plex server computer.
