I can confirm that this works for me on a Mac.
Well done, thanks!

It appears that it autoupdated to Version 1.23.6.4860 at some point, and everything appears to be back on track. Feel super good about finally getting it running.
Not working on my Synolgy. Even after Update System is broken.
Plex Media Server-14.log (3.6 KB)
Hit this issue as well, auto update script bumped Plex to 1.23.6.4810-15ce0e21a and I couldnāt stay online due to database timeout issues. Tried recovering from a backup to no avail. Forced the install of 1.23.5.4862-0f739d462 and the server came back online without issue.
@StSimm1 - Is the latest beta release 1.23.6.4863 a workaround or a fix? Since itās dated July 23, Iām guessing itās the former. The reason Iām asking is that Iāve been running 1.23.6.4810 on Windows without any issues.
@StSimm1 - The newest Beta release is still not available in the Play Store for the Shield, and Iām still not able to start Plex Media Server due to this issue. Can you please get this fix published in the Play Store?
Why not just roll back a release or two. Here are the APKs you can sideload. Plex: Stream Free Movies & Watch Live TV Shows Now APKs - APKMirror
I tried and the database still locked on me. On Shield when you roll back, it wipes the database and installs fresh. Wasted 12 Hours on Saturday rolling back, reinstalling my database, etc.
@StSimm1 - Thanks, update came though on the Play Store - working again!
Same problem. Been following this thread, but I canāt find where to download version 1.23.5.4862 ?
thanks

thank you! Got it.
I have also been suffering with the problem for a few days now. Does anyone know when a new build for Windows can be expected?
Thank you all.
What version are you currently running?
Fixes for the database locked problem are now available for both the 1.23.5 and 1.23.6 releases.
If Settings ā General does not say an update is available, then download from plex.tv and manually update.
thank you @FordGuy61
It seems to work now.
Just popping in to say was having the same issue with 1.23.6.4810 on Ubuntu server 20.04.4, but the problem didnāt manifest until last night. Appears that after initial restart it ran fine, but my backup shuts down the server on monday nights to run and it started locking up and crashing and restarting repeatedly after being turned back on. If I tried to play anything during the time it would error out.
Installed the 1.23.6.4860, took about 10 minutes but it did finally come back up and I was able to run a couple of test plays from different libraries, switching audio and subtitles streams. Appears to be working now for me with this version as well.
The problem has returned. It started for me around the time of this thread, and the only thing that worked right away was reverting to 1.23.4.4805, so I did that and all was well⦠for a while.
Then there were some more updates made available that seemed to have a fix, so I installed them and it seemed to work still. But today I updated to 1.23.6.4881 and the ādatabase lockedā errors returned and my Plex server became unusable.
Unfortunately I tried rolling back to 1.23.4.4805 and now that seems to be unusable as well. Iām not sure what changed but currently Iām back to ādead in the waterā status.
With the latest update on the Nvidia shield, I can say that still doesnāt work.
I canāt get my server to start
Yup⦠last 2 releases of Plex are 100% crappo⦠not usable
