I seem to have a constant battle with subtitles...
I have anime content with embeded subtitles that detect as unknown audio and unknown subtitle language...
THe only way I can get plexsync to reliably enable transcodes based on unwatched filters is to globally set ALWAY ON since the language detection doesn't help.
I however have other videos with english audio that detects as unknonw and have subtitle streams that include english as well... I then end up with subs when I don't need them.
Ideas:
Solution? Have a forced subtitle option for library sections or series?
BTW: I have been using mkvmerge to sort out these issues, but it is a lot of work and you have to keep doing it. More of a quirky workaround than a fix.
Using command line tools to pre convert files defeats the very nature of Plex server. :) Suffering with always use subtitles and maybe removing them where needed is the interim workaround.
It sure does. Just how I am dealing currently with the situation.
The link I gave above suggests that one should be able to define a default language and PMS should then treat any audio stream of "unknown" language as of the default language set. Am I correctly assuming that if implemented, this could deal with your issue?
