Default subtitles

Hi there!

I’ve been ripping my DVD collection via handbrake, and I have several foreign films. (Anime, and others).

I’ve been ripping both english and the default language audio tracks, as well as english subtitles. I’ve figured out how to make it default the foreign audio track, but I’ve been having trouble getting the subtitles to be defualted on in PLEX. When I’ve ripped the DVD, I’ve made sure that the “default track” checkbox is selected for the english subtitles track. Yet PLEX still doesn’t recognize that.

Is there something I’m doing wrong? Or someway that I can make my foreign films have the subtitle track selected by default?

There’s a section in your Plex account settings where you define your language preferences for audio and subtitles. While movie containers allow specifying a default track, that’s only an information to the player… the actual decision which language to use is driven by the player itself
