Deleting watched episodes for non-admin user

Server Version#: 1.32.4.7195
Player Version#: 4.110.1
Windows 10

For the last few years, I’ve used Plex-Cleaner (repo, closed forum thread) to automatically delete recorded episodes of General Hospital a week after my wife watches them in her non-admin user. But I’ve noticed I’m now receiving a “Cannot connect to server” error in Plex-Cleaner every time it runs. Since I haven’t changed anything with the Windows or Plex-Cleaner config, I’m assuming there’s been a change in PMS that’s broken this. So a few questions:

  • Is there now a way built into PMS to configure a recorded show to automatically delete episodes after a specific user has watched it? Last I checked it only worked for the Admin user, but I’d prefer an official solution if one exists.

  • If anyone else using PlexCleaner and seeing this error? Is it still working for you on the latest version of PMS?

  • Does anyone know of any other solutions for deleting watched episodes by a non-admin user? Plex-Cleaner hasn’t been updated in several years and I see an unanswered bug similar to mine from April so it appears it’s no longer maintained.

Thanks in advance!

Nudging.

Am I the only person who needs this functionality?

Doh! Turns out this was pilot error on my part. For future Googlers, if you are receiving the error “[ERROR] Cannot reach server!” follow the instructions and regenerate your authentication token.

Looks like my authentication token expired or was reset and regenerating the token fixed the connection problem.
