Devs: Please, submit Plex for Android for Voice Action support, so we can have "Ok Google, play

EDIT: SOLVED AS OF v4.5.0.372! Thanks!

Hi Plex,

Google has just opened up their Voice Actions (also known colloquially as Google Now, OK Google, etc) options to 3rd party developers. Already it's being used by other media companies like Pandora and Spotify to play tracks and stations that are specific to that app. Here's where you could jump in!

Just fill out the form here if you haven't already - https://developers.google.com/voice-actions/custom-actionswith the Android package ID, what sort of phrases you'd like to use, etc.

It'd be great if we could get hands-free Plex support through Google's voice actions!

Thanks for considering it.

This would be awesome! And looks to be relatively simple. I'd image some Intents would need to be handled internally but that's fairly simple to setup.

This would be AMAZING for in the car with the new plex music update

+1 for car audio.. But vanstinator is correct, Plex would have to have the destinations built into its app.

Yeah I think it would be cool to cue up a TV show that way then I could cast it to one of my players. Maybe it could just pull up the next unwatched episode.

Hi Plex devs - thanks for adding this in the most recent version. Could you possibly consider adding more voice actions than just "search" - how about Play, if someone says a specific song or Movie/Episode title? Google themselves use at least 2-3 different voice commands for all their apps - Plex doesn't need to just be limited to a single one. :)

Any updates on this, I’m thinking of switching to the android ecosystem if this is possible to implement in December

Google Assistant will open up to developers in December with 'Actions on Google' - The Verge

I dont think this will be implemented in December. Things like this take a lot of testing and effort. If anyone is working on this, i doubt it will be done before February.
