Direct paths possible?

Is it possible to do direct paths like you can with PlexKodiConnect?

This allows immediate playing instead of a delay while media is starting.

Direct play support is there. If you’re using 1.6.2 or above, there is a seeking setup that causes the delay. If it’s all local play for you, you can turn off the delay at: Preferences > Playback (monitor) > Advanced video > Skip Delay

Just set that to 0.

You’d also need to make sure that direct play is setup in your quality settings.

Thank you for that> @benjaminwolf said:

Thank you for that, where is the “direct play” in quality settings? On PMS itself? I only see Original can’t find anything about direct.

The 0 delay worked though. Will this effect my devices when I play on my phone when I am somewhere else? (Not that I really use my media when I am not at home)

Preferences > Network > Quality

Not at all. It’s client specific.

Thank you sir. What is the cache size for?

It’s for caching a media stream for smoother playback when bandwidth is an issue. I use on remote clients which are streaming at lower quality streams across the internet (which is inherently more unstable) and in my living room where the WiFi is spotty on occasion.

Hrm maybe I should raise it up. I have wired network but sometimes still there is a 5-10 second loading time to load up the preplay screen. Not sure why.
