Direct play on Samsung MU6100 (Tizen)

Server Version#: 1.16.5.1488
Player Version# Plex for Tizen: 4.1.1
Tizen Version#: 3.0

If I connect a HDD directly to the TV it plays the HVEC without problem and my 5.1 audio system receives the signal without problem.

If I play it with plex, It converts it to x264, constantly buffering, all the settings on the TV are in Original. Any idea how can I achieve direct play for video at least?
I tried setting the audio in plex to TrueHD and AC3 5.1, still transcodes the video.

Plex player is configured as default: allow direct play and direct stream, and all quality options set to original

That’s not the server version. After going to https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/web/general, look to the left for your server name, then look for Settings and click on General. That should display your Server version.

The server version will be 1.something, found like this using the URL above:

Ok this feels bad, here it is:
1.16.5.1488

Setting the audio to AC3 5.1) should prevent transcoding. Are you using subtitles?

When the item is playing, can you go to the web url again and click on the activity icon (upper right, it will be animated during playback on the TV), expand the view of the playback item and post a screenshot:

PlaybackInfo

Ok, that question about the subtitles make me test several formats, with the video fila I have PGS subtitles in several languages, if I select that format it reencodes to x264, if I select SRT subtitles it plays smoothly.
From now on I have to make sure to select SRT, any idea it doesn’t work with PGS?
Thanks!

Right, Plex can’t support direct play with PGS and will require transcoding for most (if not all?) clients.

Thank you @darcilicious !! You make my day! Now I can fully enjoy my TV with plex =)
