How do I change the audio from 5.1 to stereo? I can’t find the setting in the player or server settings.

There isn’t really a setting for that. The Google TV supports certain 5.1 codecs so PMS will use those codecs. If your TV doesn’t support 5.1, there is a setting in the Google TV’s main audio settings to only output stereo. So any 5.1 the Google TV receives from Plex will be converted by the Google TV to stereo to then send to the TV.
Is there a way to fix the low voice sound? Even with audio boost huge I have to set the TV 6x volume. Thank you for the reply.
There’s no fix on Plex’s side. It has to do with your audio settings and it’s trying to play the 5.1 channels when you don’t have it. Things to try:
What is your setup? You have a 5.1 surround system? I live in an apartment and don’t want too much volume. Is a new TV the solution or does it need to be a sound system? Thank you again for the help
This doc [How To] Downmix Surround Sound To AAC Stereo Properly (using FFmpeg Batch Converter) might be of help.
Ultimately if I your media container has surround sound but your audio system doesn’t then you’ll need likely run into audio issues, especial with low dialogue and loud background.
Others may disagree with me but you can try to adjust the player settings as above to help alleviate but it won’t ever be perfect. Adding a stereo stream would be better IMO.
Thanks I think disabling pass through helped a lot.
