Disable video stream transcoding - What has changed?

Hi, I’ve been using my server with Disable video stream transcoding option enabled for a while. Everything was working beautifully, where most of my videos were just being Direct played in high quality.
I don’t really know what happened on the server or client-side, but suddenly I can only Direct play videos from my local network. In order to play something remotely, I had to disable this option and now Plex is transcoding and streaming in SD.
My girlfriend cannot play the same movie she watched two days ago in HQ.

I started experiencing this problem after updating to 1.18.8.2527-740d4c206. I made a downgrade but the problem persists.

In the Apple TV app during playback swipe down from the top then over to “technical details” it should have a basic reason it asked to transcode

Your server logs at the start of the playback should also have the request from player for transcode. Or if a network reason like too slow to play the file otherwise.
