On my Android TV device and Android phone, Prime Video doesn’t open from Discover. It redirects to Google Play and PV has to be opened from there.

Amazon is disallowing deep linking. Nothing Plex can do about it.
Thanks Otto, is this something that is fairly recent and being rolled out gradually? Only asking because I’m sure it used to work previously and it still works for some users.
AFAIR it’s been like that for months already. Shortly after discovery has been released, in fact.
Only some brands are affected. If you have an Android device which uses Google play store instead of Amazon it’s probably working on there.
Thanks but, as I said in my post, my Android devices redirect to Google Play Store so it’s not “working on there”. Unless I’m completely misunderstanding what you mean.
Prime Video is an Amazon product. So they not only disallow one app deep linking into another app when running on their app store platform.
No they also completely forbid deep linking into their own video streaming app, no matter which platform it’s installed on.
