In the “Recently Added” section of the main page (on all platforms preferably) I would like it to show recently added content from ALL servers. Meaning… My server and servers shared with me by friends.
This way when I open up Plex on any of my platforms, I see anything new that has been added regardless of who added it. As it stands right now, I have to manually select my friend’s servers if I want to see if they added anything new. I may not realize for a while that they added new content if I don’t switch to their server and check.
In order to allow customization and not upset users who do not want this feature, I think it would be ideal to have this listed as an option under the users section where you see your friends. You could add a check box that says something like “Include in Recently Added”. This way if you had a particular friend that was always adding things you didn’t really care about, they wouldn’t overrun your feed of Recently Added.
Another reason I want this is that I share my Library with some friends that simply just leave my library selected and never even search other libraries because it’s easier for them. Instead of sharing the load of streaming like originally intended between my friends, I end up doing the brunt of the load because they don’t even bother to check other servers. If they were to see that other friends added similar or better content then they would watch from them too thus relieving my server of some of the load.
Seeing as how the search feature is able to search across all servers, I don’t think this feature request would be too much of a stretch.
