Displaying Bitrate For Albums

Maybe this has been answered or not, did a quick search and couldn’t find an answer…

I use Plex on IOS and other mobile devices as a remote to control a “audiophile” PC and wondering is there a way to add “bitrate” to the album covers on IOS/Windows or is this something that could be added?

I have a pretty decent size collection of music and have multiple albums in some cases where they release a HD version of a album. Lets say Pink Floyd for instance, where they recently released 24bit 192 versions of there albums. Now when going into the artist I can’t tell the versions from 16bit to 24bit ect. I have started changing the album name and adding “24bit” to the end, however it sometimes screws with the metadata.

Use Plexamp instead. It has that option.

Thanks for the quick reply but Plexamp never see’s any of the windows PC’s or Mac’s even if I have the Plexamp running on the desktop and advertising as a player. It will show all the TV’s, Sono’s devices and other mobile devices… They are all on the same subnet and the same IP scheme.

2 things to check:

  • a running Plex server in the same network may help
  • the firewall on these PCs and Mac must allow the “Plex for Windows/Mac” to open a port on the network adapter. On Windows, you should verify that the network connection is NOT classified as “public”.
