Displaying local lyrics requires Plex Pass?

I have .lrc files on my Plex server that match the associated song. On Plex, I can display the lyrics for all songs that have a local lyrics file. On Plexamp, for the same songs, the option to display lyrics is greyed out and tapping on it pulls up a view that says Plex Pass is needed. Is this intended or a bug?
