I want Plex to display my Movies Library according to my filenames so they will be properly sorted.
For Example: I have three (3) Pirates of the Caribbean (PotC) movies in .mkv.
I have named them PotC-Curse of the Black Pearl, PotC-Dead Man’s Chest and PotC-At World’s End.
But the first one displays simply ‘Curse of the Black Pearl’ and appears among the 'C’s while the other two appear among the 'P’s.
How can I fix this?
Name them properly and put them in a Collection:
or/and
Name them properly and use the Sort Title to put them side-by-side in a library:
Sort Title for Every One: Pirates of the Caribbean YEAR
You’re not doing yourself any favors butchering up their file names.
Sorry - I didn’t really use PotC (it was entered in parentheses and used it to save space in my question). I do have them all in one Movie folder, and they are named exactly as IMDB.com lists them (except the illegal colon is replaced with " - ".
I am new here and I will research how to set up a “Collection” like you did…
Edit the Movie
Go to ‘Tags’
Any Name you type in Collections, will become a Collection that you can stick movies into by Editing their Tag - and selecting the Collection you just created:
Then, you can Edit the Collection - and in the Advanced Tab select Alpha or Release Date as the default Sort Order… along with other stuff, like the Collection’s Sort Order - if you want it to display somewhere other than where it falls by it’s name, a Special Poster/Backdrop/Description, etc.
Warning!:
The current public release of Plex Media Server - will NOT allow you to delete a collection you make (by mistake, or something). Be Careful. Be Accurate. Be Sure.
(We hope that Collection Bug is resolved - soon.)
Thank you very much …
I think I’m going to like it here
(I’m having other problems as well but will present them separately
