I am wanting to play around with a DLNA template to allow it to perform some features I would like. However I’m not sure if I can even write a custom template that isn’t over written during an application update.
I have to warm up this old topic cause I have the same issue as BambiSlayer.
It is related to Plex DLNA server and must be configured on the server side. I have two DLNA servers running on my QNAP NAS offering the same content. The list shown in the clients is different depening on the chosen server:
QNAP native DLNA server: if I chose “by album” just the album titles are shown, inside the album the song titles are shown followed by the album name
Plex DLNA server: if I chose “by album” all albums and song names are listed starting with band or singer name followed by album name followed by the song name
This is independed from the client, I tried with different ones. But this causes issues, e.g. on my surround receiver with limited display size I see only band names, the album names are cut off or appear after a certain time by scrolling text. This is pretty anoying cause I have to wait untill I see what album is selected.
As this is independent from the client, it must be a configuration on the server side. How can this be changed? How can I tell the server what order of the information shall be for songs, like “song name - album - band” in place of “band - album - song name”.
