DLNA on multiple networks

Server Version#: 1.19.3.2852
Player Version#: 4.34.3

Hi,

My PMS has two network interfaces:

  • One with Internet connection
  • One in an isolated network

I can see my movies/series using the App, Web or DLNA client only in one interface (first). Clients in isolated network cannot discover the DLNA Server and, of course, it is not allowed reach Internet then it is not possible to use Apps or the external Web Player.

I did some tests and it seems that Plex uses to publish services only in one NIC and only if this NIC has gateway.

How can I use the DLNA on this scenario ?

How do you have the nic setup on your linux machine? Are you using multiple static addresses(one different subnets) on one physical interface?

It’s a virtual machine with two “phisical” interfaces, both ethernets are configured with static IP. Only one interface has gateway.

If I am not wrong, DLNA uses multicast addresses and I am not sure if it is needed to configure an IP on this interface.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Regards,

Correct about multicasting. But plex server is the appliance hosting the dlna service and plex itself has to be bound to a physical interface. I am not certain though.

This is my current configuration: image

Ports with “LISTEN” status:

Please let me know if it is needed more information to solve this problem.

Regards,

I understand that Plex is not able to offer DLNA service on more than one network, is it ?
