DLNA Server: Decide per library, if included in DLNA content or not

Currently I use PLEX DLNA-Server for playback of music with my Yamaha Receiver, as it has no PLEX integration.

Unfortunately it is not possible to switch on and of, if content is included in DLNA or not on a per library basis. So I can either enable DLNA completely for everything or disable it completely.

I have the situation, that there are libraries, that I don’t want to be accessible for everyone. For me it would be OK if those would be available via PLEX only, as there I can enable or disable access to libraries on user level.

DLNA does not have such a security feature. This is the reason for PLEX switching of DLNA completely when you create additional accounts, although you can manually switch it on again.

So I suggest a new feature, that allows to include / exclude libraries in DLNA.

If implemented, I would be able to publish via DLNA everything that I want to be public while restricting access to private stuff on a per user level via the PLEX-frontend.

Best of both worlds combined - sort of

Strongly second this!!

Finally got Plex DLNA to work again - only to discover serious lack of security on published content.

Since last DLNA use, we have added several libraries for private content (like synced mobile photos, vide recordings being edited a.o) which should NOT be available to public DLNA users - event if in the household.

Suggest to ‘link’ DLNA to GUEST profile for filtering content. Should be easy to implement as GUEST i fully supported by Plex already.
Possibly should add checkmark option to ‘Link DLNA to GUEST profile’ on/off to keep backward compatibility
