Hi,
I get a bunch of DNS resolution from my plex Media Server since sometimes (not sure when it start)
Here is the numbers, for last 24hrs (from pi-Hole) :
lyricfind.plex.tv : 251580
mbz.plex.tv : 149802
metadata.provider.plex.tv : 32204
acoustid.plex.tv : 19740
analytics.plex.tv : 10786
No recent change was made (apart regular update PMS version),
No bunch of music added (just 4 or 5 albums in the last weeks)
Someone get the same behavior ? My DNS server is overloaded with all those requests :-/
Thx
As a workaround I put these in the /etc/hosts file of the PMS.
Here is the before/after on my DNS server

How big is the music library ? Albums / tracks
Was the load tied to the time the music library (libraries ) scanned ?
How often do the scan library processes run ?
Are you running periodic scans ?
Server logs zip with debug logging enabled and captured at various times would help

Hi sa2000,
Thanks a lot for your questions,
I was able to spot the problem : the scan for library was set to “every 15 min”
I now modify this setting for “daily”
Which is strange, is that I didn’t change that recently and was not a problem before.
BTW, i get only one peek/24 hours now

Perfect
Thank you for the feedback
I have same issue, a ton of dns requests for lyrics and I don’t have a pass at the moment and have (i think) disabled lyrics.
Can I just block this since there seems to be no way to disable it?
