I go through the program guide every day looking for new movies or shows to tape. It is such a huge waste of time having to manually search for a movie in my library when I want to see if I’ve already recorded it!
It would be too CPU / disk intensive to do an automatic lookup for every single movie or show that appears in the TV guide, but could you do this lookup when you OPEN a show or movie you are interested in? You could show the search results in a sidebar! That would be awesome…
There’s actually already a suggestion asking for exactly that feature. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting/dispersing votes and attention for this feature.
Therefore I’m closing this thread.
There’s on more suggestion asking for an option to start playback from the guide for items already in your library.
