Sorry for such a basic question but there doesn’t seem to be an answer anywhere on the plex websites (is it a secret?). Question: If I use a service such as Roku, Mi Box, or YouTube TV, can I record the progamming with a plex dvr, AirTV, etc ? Or does plex have a paid programming service that allows me to do that.
I would love to be able to record say, CBS football games, onto an external hard drive. I’m not trying to skirt any legalities - just trying to understand what plex can do.
I’d also like to be able to record live streaming content, but Plex does not seem to support any live streaming content, let alone allow you to record it.
Steve is correct, plex does have live tv and dvr functionality (requires plex pass), however you must have a compatible tuner such as hdhomerun and other similar products.
note most tuners are for OTA local/antenna channels.
hdhr does have a cablecard compatible tuner, however you cannot record drm’d channels (whether channels are broadcast with drm depends on your cable company) in plex.
