Does RasPLEX support playback of MKV chapters?

It's my understanding that the only way to maintain chapters within an MKV file is to play the file through a dedicated PC connected to the TV and running PLEX Home Theater.

Am I understanding correctly that PLEX Home Theater can be installed on a Raspberry Pi that will then have all of the PHT functionality of a traditional desktop computer?

(My PLEX Media Server is a Synology DS214play.)

If it works on PHT on a PC or Mac then yes it will. Rasplex is a direct port of PHT running on top of OpenELEC, with Pi specific enhancements. Latest version is 0.4.1 which is basically PHT 1.2.2.

I’m having quite some troubles with a MKV that has chapters on the latest RasPlex/OpenPHT right now. I can’t fast forward, skip more than 30 secs at once or resume the file in the middle. Works fine in Web or iOS. Any known bugs currently?

what you can do is use plex iOS app as a remote and it displays the chapters there which you can skip too. Hope that helps.

I even tried that, but upon selecting a chapter in the iOS remote the movie would just start from the beginning on RasPlex. Absolutely any attempt to scroll/seek that file would result in failure, either complete stop/hangup or just no reaction at all.

Weird. That’s what I do for chapters and it works fine.

Did you find a fix at all?
