Dolby Vision not working on 7.24 with single layer mp4 files

Feature request: Support profile 7 Dolby Vision ('dual-layer DV') in MP4s

First of all (especially to the mods): please read this topic carefully befor closing it (as a similiar topic was closed by one mod without any reasonable reason). Thank you Second, for a better understanding, in the following, I will use terms like ‘single-’ vs. ‘dual-layer’ Dolby Vision (instead of the more uncommon tems profile 5 vs. profile 7 DV, respectively). Importantly:
1. DVDFab’s so-called single-layer DV seems to be not real DV… so be careful when being satisfied with it
2. Yes. I would agree that the problem may be more Nvidia sided. However, as I also pointed out: the Exoplayer could play it and then Plex would not rely on the Shield’s internal player what could be the key… and that’s why Plex is able to play dual-layer DV on some TVs. It uses another player
3. Even if not, it could also be a licensing issue… and then Plex or Nvidia would have to found out how to implement it. (I cannot imagine that there is a built in hardware limitation on the Shield… especially external software like Plex what comes along with such a license should be able to play dual-layer DV even if the Shield itself doesn’t).
