It would be great if embedded subtitles could be downloaded. Webtools already allows external files to be downloaded.

I often see something within subtitles that I want to correct, and its somewhat difficult to edit them without an easy way to extract them.

mkvtoolnix has a command line tool available for windows-mac-Linux that can do this. https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/226168/how-to-use-mkvtoolnix-to-extract-srt-subtitle-form-mkv-file

If you have a Windows computer or VM with access to your media files, you can simply ‘open’ the video file with Subtitle Edit

Wow! That looks really amazing. Unfortunately I’m running plex on ClearOS and only have Mac computes in the house.

I just tried opening video files with the 2 subtitle editing programs I have, but they both failed to do so. It had never occurred to me to try before. I guess it was worth a short :wink:
