Download unwatched episodes. See downloaded series

So this new version is pretty poor at the moment but I can ignore most of the issues except I can’t work out the download options.

Previously I would set a series up to download Next 5 unwatched episodes and update that on refresh.

I would be able to go into Downloads and select Libraries and I could see what series I had downloaded, click on them and see the episodes.

Now I can’t see the option to download unwatched anywhere. I assume it must be somewhere because why would people want to download watched stuff, can anyone point me in the right direction for where this has moved to?

Also, how do I see downloaded shows by Series rather than a big long list of everything that is downloaded?

I’m downloading series from my own plex server and have a plex pass.

Edit: I do remember when they introduced the horrendous windows app a while back I temporarily got round the issue with not being able to only download unwatched episode by using Smart playlists but I also don’t appear to be able to download smart playlists.

Downloading of unwatched episodes is not yet supported in the new version. Currently you’re limited to episodes and seasons. If this breaks your workflow needs, I’d suggest downgrading and letting it all sort itself out over the next few weeks.

Thanks, I was kind of hoping they’d learnt from the Windows release a few years back and weren’t releasing apps with loads of essential features missing but I guess that was too much to hope. Obviously some shiny new UI is a much better option than actually having a working app.

I’ve managed to downgrade my android app (although I am now having to download everything again) but going to have to spend more time on figuring how to disable auto-updates on an Amazon Fire tablet and making the app available on the kid’s profile.

All so avoidable if someone had actually stopped and thought do we really want to release an app that doesn’t work? Hopefully they won’t hamstring the old app before they have fixed the new app.
