Downloaded TV show episodes will auto-play even when auto-play is turned off in settings

TV episodes downloaded to my iPhone do not respect the auto-play settings.

I can reproduce the issue like so:

  1. Make sure auto-play is disabled in the app settings (of course)

  2. Download at least two episodes from any one season of a TV show. They don’t need to be contiguous, and you can reproduce the bug by downloading an entire season.

  3. Play the earlier episode (so that there is one coming after it), and seek close to the end

  4. Let the episode finish playing

At this point, the next episode will start playing automatically. It never goes to the “Playing Next” screen at all.

It’s quite important to me that autoplay be off and stay off (especially since I often fall asleep watching an episode of something and don’t want it to keep playing afterwards) so until this is fixed, Downloads doesn’t work for me!

I just started using the download feature on mobile and am running into this issue as well. Similarly, I like autoplay off at night so that episodes don’t continuously play through the night while I’m sleeping. My short term solution is to just have one extra episode downloaded at a time, but it’s incredibly annoying.

This does appear to be fixed in the latest version!
