What the f*ck happened to downloads?!
I had appr 200Gb synced to my iPad but after the “new experience” I only have a long list of episodes (and movies) which makes it impossible to see what’s what. Thinking this was a bug after (forced) upgrade, I ended up deleting the app and all of my downloads to start again. After reinstalling and starting dowloading all over again, I quickly discovered even more MAJOR FAILS with this “new experience”:
- You cannot download a “show” anymore. Only a season.
- You cannot determine how many episodes to download, but you are forced to download the COMPLETE season.
- You cannot exclude watched episodes. The whole season is downloaded, regardless of watch status and amount of episodes.
- You cannot see which episodes are watched in the enormously long list of episodes so now you have to remember what you have watched or delete each episode after watching.
- Shows are not shown anymore. ONLY episodes - in one long, messy list.
- You cannot open an episode to get access to the episode information, but it only starts playing.
- You cannot see play progress on an episode in offline mode.
- Viewing progress in not synced. and app has a hard time switching between online/offline mode.
- You cannot chose: “Mark as watched/unwatched” anymore.
- As episodes are no longer grouped in shows/seasons, you can only delete one episode at a time and not a show (or a season). No “selection” is available either. I always missed a “delete automatically after watching”-feature in the “old” version, but this is a new low.
The only explanation I can find as to how downloads have been COMPLETLY DESTROYED making offline viewing COMPLETLY USELESS is that Plex has been HACKED and the code was rewritten to piss off paying Plex customers. Either that it was intentional, in which case everybody working on it should be fired immediately.
These changes are so BAD that the “new experience” should either be a new app (leaving the old one available) or something you can toggle on and off like for example Microsoft does with some of it’s software.
First my Sonos products, now Plex. What the f*ck is going on?
