Dumb question about Intel Quick Sync transcoding on Linux: does it accelerate tone mapping?

Server Version#: N/A
Player Version#: N/A

I’m considering hardware options for a server build but there is one puzzle piece I haven’t figured out yet… Does a Linux server with Intel Quick Sync hardware accelerate HDR to SDR tone mapping, or does the acceleration only apply to non-HDR transcoding?

Linux has the best performance when it comes to tone-mapping, because it can at least hardware-accelerate some parts of the process. See HDR to SDR Tone Mapping | Plex Support

FYI, Intel Xe graphics are not yet supported for Linux. There’s a problem with the Intel supplied video driver.
