Updates on HDR->SDR Tone Mapping w/Windows

Just wondering if there are any updates on getting HDR Tone Mapping to work w/Windows? Just picked up an 8th gen Intel CPU and would really like to take advantage of it. I know I can switch to Linux but that’s a heavier lift that I’d prefer not to do right now.

Thought I read where it did work at one time?

Learning Linux can be a big job, no lie. But if you have an extra hard drive I encourage you to pop it in and try it out. If you’re not under the gun to get it working, you might find it kind of fun to tinker with.

Well I had already planned to do just that but already hit my first snag with trying both Ubuntu 20 and 22 and ran into issues getting video to work properly (and I’m just using a basic Lenovo ThinkCentre, nothing special at all).

Already frustrated lol.

Ouch, that sucks! Not gonna lie… Windows ain’t the only OS that can provide WTF moments.

My first time installing 20.04, doing everything by the book, the firewall managed to get completely pooched leading me to some really confusing connection problems. I nuked it and started over, no more problems. Go figure.

I thought it was working?

Nvidia GPU required for hardware accelerated tone mapping on Windows systems.

HDR to SDR Tone Mapping

Yep, but would be nice if they could support QuickSync like they do on Linux. Not sure what the hold up with that is.
