Hard to explain this one succinctly.
I have a DVR connected to an HDHomerun. I set it up to try it out, and truthfully forgot about it as I don’t use it yet. When I set it up, I clicked on a few shows to record like the news, and a bunch of sitcoms that were on at the time like Roseanne, and set it to keep the 5 most recent episodes to prevent the drive getting filled up. Additionally, I have it save to a DVR library — I keep this separate from a TV Shows library. While that may sound weird, I do it because the TV Shows library is curated / higher quality, no commercials, etc., and I don’t want OTA content mingled in there.
As mentioned, I forgot about the DVR and downloaded the 10 new Roseanne episodes and throw them in my TV Shows library. I watch the first 4. Every night during maintenance, Plex seems to be deleting episodes from the TV Shows library … I suspect (could be wrong) that because The DVR is set to record Roseanne, and I’ve told it to keep 5 episodes, it is deleting anything but the 5 latest episodes.
Assuming that is what is happening, my opinion is any delete operations should only apply to the library that the DVR is saving to. The DVR should not delete from any other library. Now, I haven’t tinkered with it much and the problem might be elsewhere, but has anyone else seen this?
