DVR lists Law & Order SVU, but it records OLD Law & Order episodes

It has become extremely frustrating to have to continually check & delete very OLD Law & Order episodes from MANY years ago. Does anyone have a clue why this is happening???
I have had PLEX for way over a decade, so I’m not a newbie.

I’m setting PLEX to record Law & Order SPECIAL VICTIMS as well as NEWER episodes of LAW & ORDER, but I’m getting a ton of Law & Order that are Season 2-3-4, etc., but the show has been on for way over 10 years!!!

The guide is listing ONLY Law & Order Special Victims Unit (SVU), not Law & Order (period) at all!
This just started happening a few weeks ago, because the GUIDE has changed and I have rebooted a bunch of times! PLEASE do not respond as if you think I’m an idiot, as some people have in the past! If you really have pertinent info, I would love to hear it!! Thank you!

Sounds like the guide data Plex is getting is incorrect. If it’s showing in Plex as Law and Order: SVU but the program itself when it airs is old classic Law and Order episodes, then that is faulty guide data.

A workaround I’d suggest, is to find when those bad episodes are recording, and what channel they were on. When setting up a recording schedule, you can pick a specific air-time and/or channel. For example, if L&O:SVU airs new episodes on local channel 2, but “classic” L&O airs during the day on channel 4, you can either target the SPECIFIC airing of L&O:SVU on channel 2, which will skip the wrongly marked L&O episodes on 4.

I hope a Plex employee chimes in here with info on where our guides get their info. If there is a mechanism to correct the guide data we are picking up.
