I do not know if my EPG is to blame. I am a HD Homerun Premium Channels subscriber and as such had to jump through hoops to create a custom xmltv file using epg123 as Plex does not support multiple lineups. Is there an update as to if/when Plex will support multiple lineups natively? I’m attaching the xmltv file as well as the logs and database.
I really need to get this fix ASAP. I’m trying to transition from SageTV to Plex DVR and we do a good bit of recording so having these problems is not making me a superstar with the family.
I’m willing to try anything to get this sorted out. I do not mind scraping the recordings/epg database and starting from scratch if need. I just need direction.
So I was digging through the logs and I found this:
Plex Media Server.5.log:Aug 26, 2018 22:36:45.262 [7844] DEBUG - DVR:Subscription: We found a match in the library for 'DuckTales - E22 - s01e22 The Last Crash of the Sunchaser!'
Note that Ducktales has been updated from the 1987 version and are airing new episodes… The episode I have in my library is:
DuckTales - S01E22 - Down & Out in Duckburg.mpg
but the epsiode that I tried to record is:
DuckTales - S01E22 - s01e22 The Last Crash of the Suchaser!
Also, if you look at the first screenshot I posted, You can clearly see that it thinks the program in the guide is from 1987 when in actuality it is from 2017:
It will probably work fine once plex has proper listings for the hdhomerun
Two things i would try - check epg123 to make sure it is matching to tvdb - that might fix the fact its incorrectly showing the episodes as the old show
Second make a new library thats empty just to record this show…kind of sucks but you could always add the folder for that library back to your main library and match corrrectly so it pulls in the episodes correct there. Have the new library not show in dashboard and you are good to go

Thanks for this advice. I’m not sure I know what you mean though. How do I create a new library and how do I not show in dashboard? Sorry, I’m pretty new to Plex.
This will allow the shows to be recorded because they do not exist in the recording library. What the other user was then saying is you can add this libraries folder location to your other library so that library will see all new recordings.
You guys are great. So I set up the new library and set the show to record to the new library. It now shows up in the recordings which is great.

I do not understand this part. I created a new library called ‘Ducktales’ … Are you saying that I can add the folder that I’m recording to to my ‘Tv Shows’ where everything else lives?
Also, can you tell me if Plex devs are working on getting the guide data for OTA and HDHR Premium channels straight? This would probably eliminate this problem.
Correct - this way even though it is being recorded to another library it will show up in the correct library also
After the first recording is made it will probably be matched to the 1985 ducktales…you will need to split apart the tv show like this
And then you will have two listings of the 1985 show. You can then manually match the show under Match and it should pull correct metadata from then on
