As the Topic states, DVR is no longer removing commercials from recordings. I’m not sure how long this has been going on for as I haven’t been recording any shows for the past month.
I’ve tried deleting the docker image and reinstalling Plex Media Server.
I’ve included my logs. Any help would be appreciated.
A bit of a shot in the dark, but after upgrading from 1.19.2.(something) to 1.19.3.2764 on Linux my commercial skipper wasn’t working. In my logs I couldn’t even find that the commercial skipper tried to run. It would go from ending the recording straight to assimilating the recorded file. This is what I’m seeing in your logs. I resolved it by going into the DVR settings, setting “Remove Commercials” to “Disabled”, saving, and then going back in and setting “Remove Commercials” to “Detect and delete commercials”.
After upgrading I had three consecutive recordings where the commercial skipper didn’t run, I did the unset/set routine above, and now have had three consecutive recordings where the commercial skipper did run.
I swear “Remove Commercials” used to be a check box in the DVR settings. Now it is a drop down. Perhaps they are preparing for a new third option where commercials are marked but not destructively removed - that would be cool. However, possibly the setting didn’t carry through the upgrade from check box to drop down with the right value behind the scenes, even though the drop down looked right? I’ve “Disabled” and saved and then enabled “Detect and Delete” and saved. I have a the DVR recording now. I’ll find out shortly if this resolves the issue.

I too lost commercial skipping with the upgrade to 1.19.3.x. I was actually in the middle of testing a different fix that I read about in another thread. That was to put a copy of the comskip.ini in the configuration directory - /config/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/DVR. Turns out that worked too.
I was going to test your recommendation if that failed, but so far, after one short test, it is working again. I’ll keep this in mind if the fix turns out not to be as good as initially indicated.
