How about expanding this request to include a predictive check on whether the recording will be kept at all once the recording is finished. IE not only whether it’s been watched, but whether we are tripping any of the rules that would delete the episode immediately after recording (max episodes, ttl, etc).
I second this request. repeated airings should only be recorded if they haven’t already been watched. I’m also coming from SageTV and this is definitely a needed feature.
I would also like this. At the moment my plex system records all episodes of a show then deletes them once they have been watched.
If the watched episode is aired on tv again, plex will re-record it and then delete it again once it finishes recording as it has already been watched.
It would be nice if we had an option to only record unwatched episodes to stop this.
Recording OTA channels allows for new episodes or all episodes but I would like to have an option for unwatched episodes. In my case I’m recording 1970’s shows and delete them afterwards but, they replay episodes all the time so they get re-recorded and I need to delete them again. They show up as watched so there must be a flag in the database.
