We really need a feature which allows us to define additional criteria for recording future shows. Currently, if a show is listed in the Guide, you can opt to record the single Episode, or the whole show. But as the collection grows, we may need to offload some of the earlier series within a show to an archive, and so Plex can no longer see them, and so the same old series get re-recorded if we opt to record all episodes. Ideally I could tell it to record only series later than XX so it does not try to re-record earlier shows which I have already offloaded. Similarly, I have recorded all later Series/Episodes of a show, and am just waiting for a couple of earlier episodes from earlier shows which I may have missed - so I should still be able to offload the ones I have recorded, and just tell it to record specific episodes whenever they come around (even though those episodes I am waiting for are not yet in the Guide).
I am sure that there are many setups where this would be useful - but for me, I keep one setup in the UK, just for recording the shows, but I actually live elsewhere, and so my main media library is in another Plex setup elsewhere which does not have recording setup (as the local TV where I live is all alien to me!!). Currently I have to keep adding storage to my UK setup as the media collection is growing bigger and bigger and I cannot offload anything until I have every episode of every show, and I am sure there will be no further series released later which I may also want.
