I have asked this question already, but there has been no update or any indication that there is a fix in the works.
Could someone from plex please provide an update? This is happening on every plex player on any android device.
are you using a post processing script such as handbrake where it can crop your sd to 16:9
I’m using MCEBuddy to convert to MP4 then Avidemux to cut commercials out manually.
Just did a bit of testing, it seems to happen after Avidemux. Conversion from TS to MP4 seems to be fine, but when I cut commercials out it starts playing wrong aspect in exoplayer. And it’s only a problem with SD, HD works fine.
Just did a bit more testing, used avidemux to convert and old SD MP4 video to MKV and now it plays proper aspect ratio.
Doing that stripped some file metadata (frame width), maybe there is something in the mp4 container that is confusing ExoPlayer v2.
