When watching a DVR recording on xbox one, they are being transcoded from MPEG2 to H264. Is there a way to get them to direct play since xbox one handles MPEG2? It seems that the loss of quality due to transcoding is preventable if direct play is possible

Their built in media play may, but Microsoft doesn’t share that ability with 3rd party apps.
I thought xbox opened that up for uwp apps on xbox recently, or am I misreading this?
