It would be really nice to be able to set a storage limit for DVR Recordings. I am trying to convince my house to cut cable and this feature would make it easier for me so that they won’t fill up my server with every episode of The Price Is Right. And when the quota is reached have it start deleting the oldest recorded shows, unless they were “Protected”.
It would also be nice to have a way to add shows to an exempt list so the shows that I would actually want to keep wouldn’t count against the quota. Being Protected could be similar to being exempt, except a Protected show would still count against the quota and the exempt would not count against it. If that is to complicated, which it might be, I would rather have shows be Protected from deletion, but still count against the quota.
