DVR Transcoder error

I have the latest PMS 1.13.5.5291 running in Ubuntu server. I am a PlexPass lifetime member. I got a HD Homerun Quattro and set it up to view live TV. I can’t get the DVR feature to actually record anything to the NAS. I get a transcode error

The server is a linux box running Proxmox that hosts a ZFS RAID that is mounted into the linux LXC containers as if it were a local drive. This gives the VM direct read/write access. However I noticed that Plex could not delete or write to the drive as the user was plex. I edited the plex user and group to match the root owner GID of the drive 1001:1001 and I was then able to delete from the drive.

I was getting errors that Plex did not have access to write to the disk. now I am getting transcode errors. What am I missing?

I tried to record a show called Fishing Behind the Lines in the most recent test. Attached is the logs.Plex Media Server Logs_2018-08-15_18-48-12.zip (1.3 MB)

… and I spoke too soon. I needed to re-apply all of my permissions recursively with chown -R plex:plex to the DVR directory that I pointed the transcoder to before I swapped my users UID’s around. I am now able to record and play back. Recordings are sorted and filed in correct locations.

Perhaps this will help.

You can use setuid & setgid to your advantage. you retain owner, group plex retains read permission for anything written to the applied directory(ies)

Thanks that is super helpful!
