Guide/Lineup name: cant find this setting
Using XMLTV?: no
Channel number/Name: NA
The EPG includes guide data for all TV channels broadcast in my area, but I can only receive a third of those. I have further blocked some in the tuner which leaves maybe 20 desirable channels. When I look in Settings->Live TV&DVR->channels, it seems PMS knows about my tunable/blocked channels, but so far isn’t doing anything useful to filter/flag the displayed EPG.
It would be great to either flag my desirable channels in the displayed guide or filter out the undesirable ones. Another way would be to display an error when I try to record any undesirable channels, even if that means typing in a user filter list. It is annoying that Plex lets me mark shows for recording that simply aren’t available, or requires me to compare against a hand-printed list.
On the Manage DVR screen (via Settings / Live TV & DVR via the Web app), click on the “XX enabled” (for the number of channels enabled) and then deselect the channels you don’t want included in the guide.
Yes, I see the Manage Channels dialog. It shows a list of channels, some enabled some not. Unfortunately it does not restrict what is displayed by the EPG. I have rescanned with my tuner, rescanned in the Manage Channels dialog (in case this was different), and refreshed the EPG. The Live TV&DVR Browse and Guide features will still display many channels that simply do not appear in the Manage Channels dialog or the tuner scan list because the tuner could not find them.
Each time you enable or disable channels from the DVR settings and click on Save, the guide should update right then and there. Is that happening for you?
Well it started working, but only after I unchecked a box in the MC dialog and saved, which automatically triggered the refresh guide. In my previous attempt, I had only used the scan channels button without making any actual changes. I did not hit save, since the filter preferences that were shown were already correct.
Perhaps the “Save” button should be called “Apply Filters”. At any rate, it is working as advertised, thanks.
