Edit Movies cast members

Yes, I know this has been asked for a lot, in fact it’s been asked for often for years. But now instead of just wanting to add cast to movies that don’t show enough I need to correct mistakes made by PLEX when adding a movie. For instance, I recently added “Watch on the Rhine (1943) Bette Davis, Paul Lukas, Geraldine Fitzgerald” to my collection and Plex correctly identified the movie, but insists that the actor “Eric Roberts” is Julia Roberts brother who was born 13 years after the movies release. There is an Eric Roberts in the movie, but it’s not Julia’s brother. There is no way to fix this within PLEX. Do you EVER plan on addressing the shortcoming?

There’s an existing feature suggestion – I recommend you comment/vote in that thread… especially if you’re aware you’re posting a duplicate suggestion.

Feature Request: Edit Cast Lists

Here is a post from the public Forum, which i like to publish here, in order to get more attention.   As it is, when importing Movies into My Library, I can edit a wide variety of fields, including Title, Sort Title, Studio, Tagline, Summary, Directors, Writers, etc.  One thing that is not available to edit is the Cast Listing.  This becomes an issue when matching your media to a database such as Freebase, where the top three listed cast (the ones that get displayed within Plex and the Roku …

Therefore closing this as a duplicate to avoid further distracting/dispersing the related votes/attention.

Edit: as for the issue at hand; I’ve manually matched video of mine to that movie and it’s showing the correct Eric Roberts as listed on TMDb and IMDb
